A resident-owned community

Welcome Home!

Sterling View Cooperative Community, Inc., is a 55 and over, resident-owned manufactured home community in Hyde Park, Vt. Sterling View is conveniently located just five miles from downtown Hyde Park, and one hour from Burlington and Montpelier.

Our ideal setting allows for easy access to Route 15 and Interstate 89. We are centrally located between two premier ski resorts, Stowe and Smugglers’ Notch. In the warmer months, we enjoy local golf courses, lakes, rivers and hiking trails.

River Arts, Lamoille County Players and Hyde Park Opera House are wonderful artistic outings, perfect for a day trip. Just 10 minutes from Northern Vermont University Johnson Campus, we enjoy its great fitness center and pool. We are centrally located for easy access to all Vermont has to offer.

Sterling View is owned by the Community Members who live here – we are a resident-owned community (ROC).

We own it

The Member homeowners of Sterling View control the rent and make the rules. On April 2, 2021, the ROC purchased the land and infrastructure, such as the roads and water lines. Now, a democratically elected Board of Directors manages the business of running Sterling View Cooperative Community. Every Member household in the community has a say in who sits on the Board, how we spend our money, the annual budget, and whether we make changes to the rent.

We’re also part of a national network of more than 250 ROCs just like us. That membership provides us with access to expert coaching on how to run our ROC, leadership development and training, communication with dozens of community leaders who face many of the same issues we do, and more. Life in Sterling View is truly different than in a commercially owned community – we invite you to find out firsthand how that difference makes living here so much better.

The Benefits of Membership

We

the homeowners own the land underneath our neighborhood as a resident-owned community (ROC).

We

set the site fees.

We

approve
community
rules and park
improvements.

We

are secure – there’s no commercial owner
who can decide
